Undrafted animals will attempt to rescue the same as they do a haul. If the animal has finished a wander, they will look for something to rescue, then haul. If neither, they do another wander.
While we're on the subject, do bonded pets have a preference to rescue master? If so is the ^ preference chance upgraded (if not attacking master's foe)?

@gianni: first point can be modded in; 2nd is a good idea but can be worked around by arresting the burning pawnthen immediately releasing them (draft/undraft) I think

Following what Dargaron said WRT eyes, ears & noses have no replacements available while fingers/toes require entre limb replacement
EPOE & RBSE both allow for bionic replacements of hands/feet/ears & prosthetic noses (among other things), but I feel that at least ears/nose prosthetics should make it to vanilla (since dentures are already available for jaws).. oh, & I fully endorse earlier (tech tree) eye protection!

The way I keep my killboxes clear of trees is to designate them as grow zones; allowing sowing is optional. That way grow pawns will clearcut the areas (plus borders) automatically, & can keep producing food/drugs/textiles as an optional bonu.This method works for windmill areas too..

If you click the 'letter' (the warning box on RHS) /that/ will dissapear, but the 'event' will still continue regardless. Is that what you're describing?

December 25, 2017, 09:01:41 PM- Animal sleep spots can't currently be assigned to specific animals (irritating IMO, but understandable), so how about this compromise: bonded (or even assigned) animals should /prefer/ to sleep near their owners. Bedroom sleep spots could be created for dog/(cat?) pets (incurring no filth) while other animals/pets would be restricted by zones as currently implemented.
I'd still like specific vetinarian spots enabled (pref within hospitals) to heal/tame difficult animals (eg thrumbos) & bonded pets, but that's outside the scope of this thread..

Be aware that this behaviour is exploitable too: you can force them to break (in a designated area with that mod) by buying all their food, if you want their gear without paying for it..

Last time this sort of thing happened to me it was 'cause the caravan members were starving,causing them to break. Check their gear/health & sell them some food if necessary
