General Discussion / Trader frequency
June 21, 2017, 02:52:41 PM
It might be a noob question, but does difficulty affect trader frequency or have I just been unlucky recently? I've got an enormous stockpile of flake and smokeleaf joints (and a few prisoners missing kidneys) that I'm waiting to trade, but I haven't had a trader in a long, long time.

I cant call the traders to me because I'm a few silver short and I don't have enough colonists to risk splitting them on a trade mission

Kind of like budget power armor?

I would like to see that. I rarely have the metal/components available to mass produce vests and power armour is either too rare or expensive for me to get hold of. Plasteel on the other hand I usually have in abundance

General Discussion / Re: Pokerus by another name?

I didn't know about the last part. I usually ignore the painstopper unless someone has the wimp trait. Now I'm thinking that all of my soldiers need them so they can carry on fighting after an arm and a leg have been blown off. And then walk themselves to the hospital too.

Doesn't a joywire counter pyromaniac, chemical fascination etc to a certain extent? I might be wrong, but they shouldn't trigger as often with +30 mood, although the loss of consciousness is a bit of a pain. I tend to be pretty brutal with my pyromaniacs and haven't really looked into it too much.

I usually save up for a painstopper for those wimpy colonists. After one went down fighting a mad monkey I knew his brain needed playing with.

I always took incapable of dumb labour to mean they were too lazy or snobby to do the labour rather than they were physically incapable. That makes me feel better about the "accidents" that seem to commonly occur around these people..

I only ever have melee fighters equipped with blunt weapons to smack those pesky prisoners or colonists who start trouble. I like my prisoners with the maximum number of limbs so they fetch me a good price. If a colonist doesn't have the brawler trait they are given a gun and told to fire in the general direction of the enemy.
