Probably like most people who have been through traumatic events where they have survived against the odds. Some initial fame and celebration maybe some royalties for the book rights and then back to normality. Trying to cope with the PTSD that has only really become apparent now that Mechanoids are not falling through the roof on regular occasions.

I am not a fan of cut scenes in games but that could be cool rather than the standard credit screen we get now at the end. Maybe you make it back to civilisation, your ship is attacked by Reavers and everyone eaten, you make it to a glitter world or you are lucky enough to end up back on another RimWorld.

Any word on how this is going I am keen to get some shield action happening?

I think that powered armour is late game kit and I really only use it for close combat troops with shields.

As far as buffing goes I think it should be tied to quality. So a master worked suit should have substantially more HP and higher percentage of damage reduction.

This will never be release to steam. Nor will you lose the map if you leave. The one way to lose your underground map is to abandon it, or if your shaft is destroyed.

Might I ask if there's a specific reason to not have it on Steam? Personally, I prefer the platform, and so does (as far as I know) most of the game's player base. Putting it on Steam would just give it to more people to use and test it.

Actually the likely hood of me even downloading it if it is not on steam is remote at best. I would love to test it and give feedback but I have had to many dramas with downloads where you get more than just the download. Steam in my opinion gives some protection in regards to this situation.

Please Consider.

Joints, Smokleaf Joints is one of the best ways to get components. Easy to make, Easy to store. Whenever a merchant/trader rocks up 400+ Joints should be enough to buy all of their components.

If you want to rely on your own resources you will need to push for deep drill, Ground penetrating radar and component assembly. Deep drills are about the only way to keep up with your steel demands.

You should also pick up electric smelting and Machining. Electric smelting may not feel like it adds a lot but those steel chunks add up over time. Machining lets you harvest those mechanoids which can equal bonus components. Unless your like me and you use EMP mortar shells to fight Mechanoids which means you will be lucky to break even. However Joints can be used to buy EMP shells too.

You are talking about a very specific situation here. Tribal on Ice sheet. Any other location and you are looking at head armour made from basically a waste product. Anyone else sold off 1000 wood just to get it out of their stockpile.

Here is an Idea if you don't want the unique challenges that you face playing on Ice sheet then perhaps don't play on Ice sheet. Instead of suggesting a change that has absolutely no difference or impact anywhere else.

For those suggesting that the requirements for materials to build different things is way out. Think about the materials being used and how they are being used. Do you want an armour vest made out of the same material used to make corrugated Iron. Probably not if you want to stop a bullet. It is also gameplay and balance that I don't think is that far out of whack.

I think it would be fair to put it on the same level as Plasteel. I don't think there is a need to go beyond Plasteel.

Vlad0mi3r - I probably won't cover mechanite diseases mainly because tend quality does in fact affect their pain and impact on tiredness rate, but also partially because my skills are still very limited.

Cool no worries just keep doing what your doing.  :)

Damn it another mod I will now need. Good work this scaling due to expertise is sorely missing in the core game.

What about Fibrous mechanites any chance for them to be included?

Well there you go Z levels.

Well done, does the map count as a new colony?

Will the new map be venerable to bug infestations?

Will the map remain the same when you return to it?

Is it compatible with existing saves?

Do I have more questions? Probably.

Why would I use this over Prepare Carefully? I can edit everything in Prepare Carefully not just back stories.

I'm guessing there is no chance of a steam path being added?

Can you elaborate on this?

Its all good Harry gave me the answer. It is just that all your OP listings have the drop box link not the steam link, all good now.  :)

General Discussion / Re: Failed to send caravan
February 27, 2018, 04:00:05 AM
Are you packing everything? You will need to consider things like eating food adjusting the amount of food in the stockpile. If the caravan cannot find everything on the inventory it will wait for it. So if you have assigned all the meals to be loaded then you will not finish loading as pawns will eat meals and even take pocket meals for later leaving the Inventory for the caravan incomplete.

I once had a caravan load out interrupted because my warden recruited someone who then went and put on clothes that were assigned to inventory of the caravan. I was in the same position as you WTF is going on.

Canutes suggestion of doing it in stages is not the worst idea either it can save a lot of hassle and you can adjust things as you go, step by step.

General Discussion / Re: Pigs vs. Chickens vs. Cows
February 27, 2018, 03:25:48 AM
Pigs;

Do breed quickly and are more likely to have multiple births per pregnancy so with a lot of grazing space they can be a very simple self managing protein source. You will just need to wait until mature and then kill off the boys until you have the necessary breeding stock.

Chickens;

Can reproduce very quickly does not take long to be over run with chickens. will need to be in a walled area though otherwise they will get eaten by predators. Can be a real pain in the arse with adverse weather conditions like cold kills eggs and chickens don't have the temp range to not freeze to death during a cold snap. Even with the nerf on food consumption the will eat and eat and eat especially as their numbers grow fast. Eggs will not be automatically hauled unless the grazing area is also in your home area so watch out for auto forbidden eggs.

Cows;

Bread slow but 15 milk per day means you should never run out of protein and for the most part they are self sufficient given enough grazing area. Also Milking provides training for Animal Handling so if you want to get a pawns skill up just set them to be the one doing the milking it will take longer but it is an easy way to lift a skill.

Muffalos;

Yes not on the list but my personal favourite. 12 milk a day. Plus wool that is a sellable item means win win in my book. Just as easy to take care of as cows but bonus goodies. They also work as haulers for caravan purposes so having an extra few males around is handy. (don't use females for caravans pregnant females move slow).

Camels also fall into this win win category but are more valuable in colder environments as their wool insulates better. However you get less milk out of the females.

So in short use muffalos or camels and save your pawns time for other things.

So good to see things progressing. Please make a trap corridor It will make a huge difference in the future when the raids get bigger and harder.
