Okay your gunna probably have to do some troubleshooting. My suggestion works for certain video cards, of a certain age. I'm not sure what your running. but could also be related to directx. As thats an error that pops up in relation to directx version problems sometimes, in some games. lol
On windows, mac or linux?
you might have to use another string to force another setting. For example, I'm just winging it here, but you could try:
-force-d3d9
Which would then force possibly, directx versions.
-force-d3d9
-force-d3d10
-force-d3d11
Each would do version 9-11 respectively.

As has been linked may hold what you need, but you'll have to consider what it is your running on as well.
