Eh, I think I just connected the dots with the Nvidia thing. Either Calahan or nccvoyager actually did the hard work figuring it out. But yeah, it really doesn't play nice with either Unity (RimWorld's framework) or Steam.

you can“t see playing me rimwolrd? how is that supposed to mean?
It's a reminder that I have no knowledge at all of the problem that you're very familiar with. Just saying "it's slow" is about as informative as me telling my mechanic "my car won't work" and expecting him to know why. I needed a clearer description of the symptoms you're experiencing, which you've sort of given now. The more information you can give, the better we can zero in on the problem.

Thanks trinbal. I don't have time right now to delve deeper into this (I will when I have time), but it would be really helpful to me to know what exactly is slow. The loading? The gameplay? Other? I can't see you play RimWorld, so I don't know where to focus my investigation.
Since you're not using mods, it's unlikely that the log file would help, but it still wouldn't hurt to see it. Attach it if you can, but it's not a big deal (I think).

Hi trinbal,
There's most likely a solution for the problem, but we need to know a more about it before we can really help you.
1. Please describe more about the problem. Is the sound slow? Does it stutter? Or does it just take a long time to load? What exactly takes a long time to load? What exactly is slow?
2. What is your operating system? (Windows / Mac / Linux) What version of that operating system do you have? What CPU do you have? How much RAM do you have? Are you running 1 screen or more than 1 screen? What's your video card?
3. Are you running any mods? If so, which ones?
4. Please attach your log file (see the link in my signature).
That'll be a great start to solving this issue!

Quick side note: The link provided above is for the ATI R9 2xx series drivers. I, for instance, have a much older ATI card, and that driver wouldn't work for me. ATI drivers in general can be found by selecting the appropriate menu options on this page: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Creative Rewards / Re: Name in game: Rejected?
May 16, 2017, 02:51:12 PM
Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately, the Creative Rewards database is a separate system from the forum, so I don't have any access to that. Off the top of my head I can't point out the problem, and the auto-text can be rather unhelpful too (as you've already seen).
Tynan handles most (all?) the Creative Rewards stuff himself, so you should email him directly about. If possible, please use the same email address that's linked to the Creative Rewards account. Email Tynan at [email protected] and he should be able to give you more specific feedback.

I'm glad to hear that this is (mostly) functional now. Have you tried not switching focus to see if the problem persists?
Also, I noticed the DirectX question didn't get answered yet. RimWorld is using DX 9.0c according to the log file 47a linked. I think that's the latest DX available to Win7, and if so then we don't need to look any further in that direction.

Ideas / Re: Please add Hotkeys for Needs, Health and Gear when you click a colonist.
May 16, 2017, 12:20:30 PM
Ditto. It would be great in general if more stuff could be Hotkey'd, but I'd also love to have quick keys for the basic tabs of any selected pawn (colonist, visitor, animal, etc).

I really like this idea, personally. It would add some more variety to the base game, and open the door for more Events - which is always a good thing.

Or else ask the author to create language-specific versions.

HALP ME ALL MY DOCTORS ARE SICK WITH FLU AND MUSCLE PARASITES AND I DONT HAVE MUCH MEDICINE 1 OF THEM HAS BAD BLOOD FILTRATION AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WERE GONNNAAA DIIIIIEEEEEEE
Huh? Can't they just heal each other? What? lol
Don't forget how critical bed rest is, especially in the absence of high quality beds, high quality meds, super clean rooms, and/or highly skilled doctors. They could treat each other and then all die as a result.

Unless I'm mistaken, translation is for the Core unmodded game, in which case it would be better to contact the mod author to find a solution.

May 11, 2017, 07:35:46 PMQuote from: NinjaDiscoJew on May 10, 2017, 02:10:07 PM
What if we instead make a NEW temprature system, it would include
-You're gonna die Hot
-Very Very Hot
-Very Hot
-Hot
-Slightly Hot
-neither Hot or Cold
-Slightly Cold
-Cold
-Very Cold
-Very Very Cold
-You're gonna die Cold
Pretty straight foward if you ask me.
LOL, good for a chuckle, but not so much for a temperature scale - it's too variable depending on if your colonist is nude or wearing a parka & tuque.

But I do kinda like the idea to just show all 3: Farenheit / Celsius / Kelvin
Doesn't take up much space on the screen, and may even help people get used to multiple temperature scales. Which makes it educational!

Ideas / Re: Quest and events MEGATHREAD
May 11, 2017, 07:26:03 PM- Request for backup
Type of event: Quest
Ease of implementation: Moderate?
Summary: A friendly faction contacts you and asks for backup in an upcoming military strike against one of their enemies (could be an enemy faction, a friendly one, or even a previously unknown faction). The event has a timed window (ie. within the next xx days), and happens at a given world site that you'd have to "caravan" to. The map would be small to medium in size, randomly generated.
Reward/consequences: Helping increases goodwill with the faction, maybe lowers trading costs too. Not helping has the opposite effect.
- Hidden Camp
Type of event: Caravan encounter
Ease of implementation: Easy to Moderate
Summary: While caravaning across the world map, you have a small chance to stumble upon a hidden camp site. If the faction is neutral or friendly, you can trade for some really great gear/art/etc - expensive, but worthwhile. If the faction is hostile, they ambush you as you pass by. I suggest that these "hidden camps" be generated at world creation.
Reward/consequences: Lots of LOOT - as long as you don't die
