Ideas / Re: Crash Landing - World Map Crash Sites

I really like that idea - especially the idea that makes seeking out crashed ships makes it feasible/easier to build your own escape ship.  That could work well, IMO.  :)

I'd love for this to be a feature of RimWorld.  It really fits with the whole storytelling simulation theme that Tynan is aiming for (strictly IMO).

Quite sure (which doesn't mean absolutely sure, tho) the amount of water needed to get rid of the alcohol (even those 5%) is higher than the amount of water that beer provides. :P

Yup.  Same goes for coffee & most teas/juices/sodas/etc.  But I'd still love water to be a thing in RimWorld.  ;)

You could also post your log file, mod list, full system specs, & operating system. There may be a bug that we can help you sort out. See my sig for info on finding the log file.

Nutrient paste solves all these problems, they cant reserve items that dont exist. ;)

Just don't forget that it causes new problems: No food when the power goes out.  Solar Flare = hungry pawns.  (So keep some survival meals locked away for emergency.)

My $0.02: On a fresh install, temperature should default to Celsius unless the user is in the USA.  I'm pretty sure it's easy enough to detect what country the user is in, and obviously the user can change the temperature scale to their liking.  For example, I'm in the USA, but I grew up in Canada so I use Celsius when I can. :D

Personally, I play combat-lite games of RW, so I really like having more variety of non-combat stuff in the game.  I'd really enjoy a water mechanic (I think), and as others have pointed out, it would fit in well with other existing systems/products.

FYI, previous to A16 (haven't tested recently), it seems that mech spawns from these structures will scale just like raids. Open early = weaker/fewer, open later = tougher/more.

Ideas / Re: Ludus - fitness club

That's an interesting idea. Fitness could be tracked similarly to skills, and would degrade over time if not being worked on in some way. It would also provide more for pawns to do in mid/late game when you've got more free time.

Ideas / Re: Buy/Sell tab

Agreed. For me, trade is slow and awkward, and I keep forgetting which way is buying or selling. It would be great to have Buy and Sell tabs. In keeping with the current trade emphasis (using silver only to pay the difference), the screen should also show the total value being bought & the total value being sold, and the price difference in silver (net gain/loss), and a Confirm button to settle the transaction.

+1 from me. Especially if they can hunt colony animals for food. (In that case, do NOT let your cannibals go hungry!!)

@OP, food they're carrying in their inventory doesn't rot or deteriorate. It doesn't contribute to gut worms either. They're just trying to not starve. ;)

That's really cool!

I searched around, and found it:
1. Go to https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=29627.0
2. click on Tale Log Tab.
3. ? ? ?
4. Profit! :D

General Discussion / Re: how are log files used?

I'm not a dev, but I'll take a crack at this.  Others will correct me where I'm wrong, and hopefully I'll learn something new!  ;D

Some of the info dump is from Unity itself, and I kinda ignore that.  I have a general idea of what's supposed to be there, and what's not supposed to be there.  But mostly I just look for obvious error messages.  Common errors have common solutions, and I start from there and work through the known possibilities.
