I like Opie's 3rd idea the best. I hate artificial limits, but it makes sense that armor is not easily made. Think of what the colonists have to work with - wood, metal, stone. Metal is the only potentially feasible armor material, but there are drawbacks to wearing plate mail all day, and chain mail is just hard to make (not to mention that both are mostly useless against bullets). You need plastic / ceramic / Kevlar / fiberglass / etc to make useful armor, and that is going to be way down the tree.

If this is going to be slow paced I might be able to jump in after all. I usually only can play one or two days per week. I'd love to be a part of this if I don't hold it up too badly.

Alpha 5 is already going to have lots of "flare". There's sieges, mortars, ship-building.... It's gonna be awesome!
(So let Ty have his fun! He knows what he's about.)

You know how the 'Table needs chairs' alert shows up right after you build a table? I suggest that it should not go away unless the chair is facing the table. That, or make them auto-orienting (aka, swivel) as someone else suggested.

Wow, that's some bad luck. I think I've only ever seen a colonist hit by lightning once, and he really wasn't that hurt. Are you building roofs on your buildings?

Untrustedlife's signature pretty much says it all. In case the signature ever changes:

Please keep it that way.

General Discussion / Re: fertilizer pump

Not currently (Alpha 4f).
I found out the hard way that they can even turn stone flooring into soil. >_<
But it'll do a 5x5 square centered on the fertilizer pump (2 squares in each direction from the pump). At least, that's as far as I've ever seen them convert, even the ones I forgot about for a while.

General Discussion / Re: FUN MINI GAME! Invasion Of Ages.
June 20, 2014, 07:15:11 PM
I recently used God Mode to test a base build I had in mind. I wiped out a group of raiders with more advanced weapons and 3 mechanoids without a single colonist or turret getting scratched. I should try this mini game and see how it goes.
Edit - I had only 3 colonists and no mods

I keep finding lots of great suggestions here that have crossed my mind while playing the game, but I forget about afterwards.
I would also love this. While it's important to set your colonists' orders appropriately, it would also be good to be able to temporarily interrupt those orders to do something else.
