General Discussion / Re: Introduce yourself!
April 12, 2018, 10:28:14 AM
Hi, I love/hate this game.  It is too much fun and very challenging.

-What introduced you to RimWorld? Or to this style of game in general?
I love base building games, started with X-COM: UFO Defense in the 90's... I like games I can let run in the background while working on things.  This one perked my interest simply because I was on another game forum and someone was lementing the lack of involvement by the developer after the first couple patches.  They referenced this game as an example of getting it right and continued improvement.  So I had to check it out.

-What's your favorite other game?
I like the newer XCom's, The Fallouts, The Elder Scrolls Games, Terraria(Probably my all time favorite), The Mass Effects, and Diablo's.  I also loved The Supreme Commanders, Rise of nations, the Warcrafts, the Starcrafts, the C&C's, and Empire Earth's.

-Most embarrassing gaming-related story?
I was on the closed beta-tests for Diablo II and Homeworld.  I liked Diablo II, but decided Homeworld was not that great... and told my friends to avoid it.  I am sad I did, looking back now.

-What kind of breakfast cereal is the best?
hot cereals or frosted mini-wheats...

Ideas / Caravan Setup Idea
April 12, 2018, 10:09:33 AM
I was trying to setup a couple caravans and I am running into an issue with keeping track of the social arrangements.  I would like to send the right dogs with the right owners, IE the right animal goes with it's own master.  That got me thinking about a secondary situation.  I have married couples and "in a relationship" couples that I really would like to send out together, (then they both die if things go bad... ;) ).  Which brought up the third idea, I have some irritant people in the colony that I was going to send into a very bad situation to scout it, so If I loose them, it's OK, but if they win the event, they bring back good rewards.  (ever seen Falling Skies?!? hello, John Pope?!?)

Is there any way currently to organize the caravan by social structure without having to take serious notes on scratch paper?  If not, could there be a social indicator referencing the relationships of a selected member/animal?

Thanks.
