And yes, i think the new armor changed did hurt animals. They feel easier to kill, and thrumbos seem to drop easier too.

I know there are some minor work arounds.. But the problem wasnt actually solved. Animal combat is clunky at best, they just charge away. I really doubt he will fix it as he mentioned he would, since the game is now done, but i hope so! The only real thing the game is missing lol.

1. Animals were too squishy, and became less useful as they lose body parts as they are no ways to fix them unlike with current bionics.
2. Friendly fire - colonists that use guns are just as likely to hurt their own animals as much as the enemy would.
3. Positioning - related to friendly fire, it's just very finnicky to control animals if you want to keep them out of harm's way, especially when you're in a firing line from your nice bunker and Fido keeps getting in front of the minigunner.

I dont see that any of those were ever addressed... Though i could have missed something. Wish i had seen that before it finally came out because i could have said something, and i dont think hes going to fix it now, which saddens me, as pets are the best part of the game to me:/

You cant send off your fav pet to fight and expect it to live... It almost never does in any real fight, and if it does its missing a body part or 2. Best you can hope for with a loved pet is have it hunt down fleeing pawns.

Hell, pets arent even safe HUNTING lol. Even with animal prosthetic mods, i have they get parts bitten off constantly by small game.

@Tynan any chance of this ever getting fixed?

several predators, like big cats, feed themselves on small game and eat kibble when needed, and are great in a fight. Big cats in particular are damn fast, and can catch raiders with ease.

And I didn't know drop pod survivors could be from current factions! I have never seen one belonging to a faction before. I will have to double-check that he isn't.

Also note they're not drop pods anymore. They're transport pods :)

I'm about to transfer you to pain town!

No I joke :P

Mine Tortoise-Hello!

It makes all turtles explode when next to humans! :)

It may not fill in that Gap, but it's worth it!

Ya, heavy use of zones is pretty important. I always restrict tiny animals to indoors, they generally create almost no dirt over time, and it will stop them from being murdered by predators. I usually always make a tiny area of my pantry for only kibble and raw meat, right next to the door in, and allow small animals and larger Predators like big cats and dogs into that section only so they can only eat the kibble and meat. Though, hopefully, those larger Predator pets will prefer to go and eat corpses around the map sometimes.

He does have an infection in both lungs that I can't cure.. I don't know what all that affects or how bad it is. I think it reduces their effectiveness by 15% each?

Ya.. I will probably just arrest him. He does have the wimps trade and is pretty damn easy to knock out, which normally I would not consider taking somebody like that, but he has a passion and like five things and high scores and two more.

General Discussion / Doctor Who?
October 21, 2018, 08:43:34 PM
So.. I got a bit into a game with Prepare Carefully, Then realized i had made a mistake in one character who is supposed to be a doctor, but his profession makes him unable to doctor..

Is it possible to change him without remaking the whole game?

I always felt like it was a cheat in B18 and prior to just put a roof up and leave things exposed to the outside.
I think this should depend on the item. Wood or hay for example should be ok just with a roof.

I, too, see it as a cheap cheat lol.

And I agree some things should be ok with just a roof. Primarily the wood and hay he mentioned.

I see the comments seem to have digressed from the main topic... Did he do anything to resolve those issues he commented on in one of the patch notes?? I really want that in the game.

I think Tynan said you have to lure them out with a Klondike bar now.

I like the idea of the orbital trader just ferrying around several tones of rocks to sell for next to nothing.. Lol. Rocks that are abundant all over the planet. Almost like it's not a good use of their storage bay.
