When I go to a peacetalk I come back with 60+ good will... How quickly are you wasting yours?

Melee skill is one of the easiest skills to train in the game actually. Just force attack dumb animals that aren't prone to attacking back. You get a huge amount of XP for that and can eat the animal after. Melee hunting is quite, quite effective.

Ideas / Re: Power Information is Lacking - EVERYWHERE!!

The worst thing is that you can't even see power requirements when you're building something. It's terrible.

Without insects, mountains would be too easy and incredibly unbalanced. Take the good with the bad -- no droppods land on top of your colonists. No shelling during a siege.

I merely take their lungs and kidneys, then, in exchange, I'll upgrade their legs into wooden variants and give them a free denture. And then I release them so they may live on. Really, I'm getting the short end of the stick here.
Costing you several sticks even!

My colonists regularly get downed or seriously injured by squirrels.

I'd like one for cleaning as well.

Mods / Re: Faster bullets

I've done a quick test on this, and it's an improvement, but it seems that you forgot to change some of the weapons. I tested the revolver and the bolt action rifle, and the rifle's bullet was faster while the revolver was like vanilla. The turrets are vanilla too.
OK, should be an easy mod to make.
EDIT: There ya go.
Change them yourself, it's all in "xml" which is fairly human readable.

Ideas / Re: researching prevents degradation of researched related skills
September 17, 2018, 08:33:54 PM
"Skill degradation" is my least favourite part of RimWorld, so I routinely mod it out regardless, or replace with a "tiered" approach where you don't fall down a skill level but lose "gained xp" to the next one.

Packs of wolves would be pretty sweet, but that would be way too hard to balance.
I do agree that tortoises and squirrels, as well as raccoons, might need a bit of a nerf.

I still can't believe you guys let your colonists SLEEP, and REWARD them for it with COMFY THINGS.
Madness.
Madness.

General Discussion / Does penoxycyline prevent infection after medical treatment?
September 17, 2018, 07:15:37 PM
I found myself wondering about this, as I have literally never used penoxycyline since it seemed like a useless thing to have unless your colony is tropical or swampy in nature.
Does anyone know? Could it be used as preventative care for surgery or for when your poor colonists are torn up by a stray capybara?
If not, should it?

I haven't reproduced this yet, last time I saw someone kick dust in someone else's eyes, they won the fight.

To keep a superior, well armed enemy from slashing you in half is one thought.
