I do like the idea of the tilting pot. Say it only has bills for 10 and 20 meals at a time and each meal is cooked twice as fast than if cooked on the stove. and is 3by3 so it can hold all the stacks of food on it.

I suppose a way to balance the insta house worry would be to make the rubble walls ugly like -3 and perhaps lower cleanliness (dirt gets stuck in the gaps). Also just have them cost a chunk each but be as strong as a normal stone wall. they use three times the material but are just haphazardly shoveled together. They are also much quicker to make. Half the time of a wooden wall to balance out the fact that you can only carry one chunk at a time where as with wood you can carry enough for over ten walls at once. Also your not nailing anything together just dumping junk in a pile. I think this would really help Tribalist starts as they wouldn't have to instantly research stone cutting or mine into a mountain if they want defenses that won't burn. (also it seems silly that they forgot how to carve stone but can beat and cut steel into walls and clubs just fine)

I like some of your ideas a lot but I don't think tough/wimps should get a universal talking multipliers. Why would a tough person feel more empathetic towards a wimp? I think having them be at odds like chem/teetotaler would be more interesting. Besides on a Rimworld where the strong survive why would anyone like wimps more? Maybe Kind people feel sorry for them but I don't see why the average person would care. For tough people maybe they aren't good surgeons. "painmeds are for the weak!"
Also Beautiful people being stupid seems a bit stereotypical... what if instead they have a much stronger debuff when in tattered clothing and in a dirty room? "ahhhh this dust is clogging my pores!" Perhaps staggeringly ugly people dislike them too. Oooh and speaking of the staggeringly ugly trait, what if they don't care about being insulted as much (say -5 instaid of -15) because they are more used to it.

Also with the cleaning bot what would it eat and how to tend it? I suppose for a real quick fix it could eat chemfuel but I think a lot of people (me included) would prefer it to tap power the way androids from the androids mod do. Also healing a robot with band aids seems silly. I'd say a crafter should be the one to heal it. Hmm I suppose a way to get around that would be for the bot to "die" in one shot than have a bill that makes a new bot that requires only one component and the "corpse" of a bot.  And/or a self healing version of the bot built by archiotects. But now this isn't so simple anymore.

My point is I do like your idea of a cleaning bot. And i'd like something like it to be stock but I'd want it to be fully fleshed out not cheap.

Help / Adding mood buffs to being near a pawn.

I have this idea for a mod called animal lovers/ puppies are adorable. where pawns get mood buffs for just being around dogs and cats. Jecrell managed to give bad thoughts to pawns being near cosmic horrors so its posible right? Though Jecrell is magic...
I put a description of my mod idea in here too. Is there a dedicated mod idea feedback thread?

(i havent thought about balance in detail so all the numbers I'm putting down here will probably change a lot over time)
The mod would add in the traits Animal Lover, Cat Lover, Dog lover, and Animal Hater.
Pawns without any of those traits get a +2 mood when near a cat or dog which stacks to 3 and wears off in an hour or so. Also the same exact debuff for the death of a cat or dog only it lasts 10 days.
Animal Lover Gets Double the mood effect.
Dog lover gets double only for Dog and half for cat
cat lover is visa versa.
Animal hater gets a -2 thought when seeing a cat or an untrained dog. trained dogs are fine (dont know if telling trained and untrained apart is posible).
Dog lover vs Cat lover gets a -5 relationship. (sortof like Teatoterler vs Chemical intriest)
Animal hater gets -10 with all the lovers

This story isn't that funny but I don't think its long enough for its own thread soo..

This story is from the same colony as the last post only 4 years later. Turner had been revived by Basalt 3 years prior.
Turner and three newish recruites Sick, Sub, and Izolda, where returning home after destroying pirate outposts when they where ambushed by a single pirate with a knife he didn't even know how to hold. Turner blasted two great chunks out of the badies cheast with his charge lance but than Sub the brawler stoped him. Sub wanted the poor fellow to die with the dignity of single combat. Turner holstered his Lance while Sub waded though the marsh to meet the bleeding raider halfway.
They met in a small pond and paused.
Than with hate in his eyes the pirate raised his knife...

And had his brains blasted out by Izolda's shotgun blast.
As Subs Fiance she didn't want to take any chances.
As they where preparing to move on Sub rifled though the dead man's pockets and found pitures of his wife and son.

Both of which had manned the recently destroyed out post.
Everone paused. silently Sub picked up the body and draped it over their pack muffalo. When they arived home they placed the vengful father in the tomb of heroes where Sikel and Pain still rest.

well I'd imagine it would fall of your head if some one shot the top of it. it has no chin strap. also the divot in directs the built towards the center of the skull. Perhaps a hybrid? the advanced helmet with a wool liner a brim and a little vent in the top to let the heat out?
An armored Tuque and the rest seems fine. Tuques are already helmet-ish shaped and armored plates wouldn't hurt the insulation that much. Perhaps just call it an insulated helmet? Same with the jacket.

oooh! what about if the colonist is high social and equipped with fancy gear people will be impressed and ask to join your group.

So your invited to participate in a big game hunt (higher shooting skill better rep bonus and chance to have a meat/hide reward) so you dress up your hunters in all the bling, best guns, Trumbo fur hats, etc. than after the event is over you get a bunch of wanderer wants to join pop ups. "a villager was so impressed yadah yadah, do you wish to accept him/her?"

maybe the impressiveness of the bling would be based on Per capita income so the wealth score would be divided by the number of people visiting?
And abrasive and annoying people drastically lower your likeability score

I do like skill decay in that it helps my disbelief at the fact that after a few years in my colonies every person becomes a master at their craft yet almost everyone outside are plebes.

I do think the system could use some work though. I especially like the idea of relearning a skill being faster.


Even if the skill decay is rebalancedi think things like shooting ranges and sparing dummies should be stock. Heck conbine that with the School mod for dojos :D

Hmm or make Simple side arms solution stock? (they remember what weapons they where assigned to and pick them up once they can walk) though that system has the trouble of pawns not caring for quality so you give your best shot a legendary sniper rifle than when he gets stabbed he picks up a shoddy sniper 'cause

"F*ck it I don't want to walk two extra tiles to where my wife helpfully placed my old gun, i'll take this piece of shit here."
and
"Oh and before I get my gun I need new clothes... oh hey I'm not shooting ATM, I need a sheildbelt!"

I don't know how to go about fixing that... perhaps colonists prioritize the best quality weapons... That seems like a lot of rewriting... hmm. the shield belt thing seems pretty easy just priorities finding your weapon over getting dressed  (very rimworld a heart i'd say) though I could see someone going out in a blizzard half naked for a gun they dropped.hmmm

Hmmm, Is it posible to do the oposite? make a withdrawal give a certain break? (luci=berserk)
I have this idea for a race of artificial animals that can be controlled with drugs. so give them this expensive drug they become a colonist (but like the drones from the android mod) if they stop getting the drug they revert back to tamed animals.

I had half my colony die of the plague.
Turner my second hand and wife of queen Basalt, my farmer Sikle, and... I forgot what Pain's job was... she's been dead three years now...*sniff*
anyway yeah, the plague, no good meds, Turner's best freind Hungry travles day and night (only a biiit of dev mode) to the nearist outlander town and gets some glitter meds and rushes back exausted but its still to late. Every single person who got the plague died.
Only Hungry, Hungry's misanderist Ex Flotsom, and the now hart broken Queen Basalt remain. Flotsom who even while disliking men was good friends with charming Turner flew into a muderus rage at Hungry's tardy return. Basalt managed to break up the fight. it was a tarible time. a cold snap had kept the crops form being planted and with Sikle dead it was late summer by the time the surivors had finished planting.
But low! Casandra had heard the tears and crys of angush and blessed the Stone Crown with an excape pod! Hungry rushes over to find a teenage boy...

was...

I put down my laptop and rage laughed for a good few minits.
