doctor's priority

so you have a colonist bleeding out in the bed and what does the doctor do? give him a hot meal of course!   
so is this some kind of bug? i can't seem to find a way to change the priority. i've lost some good men just because the doctor went running for some meal instead of doing his f%&$#ing job!
