Joy Activities

So I noticed some odd joy tolerances on my colonists. "Work" and "Lewd" specifically. Obviously all of my colonists work so what makes one get joy from it and not another? And what are the "Lewd" sources of joy?

Have you ever watched a single (I mean single in both ways) colonist for a few days ? Sometimes they go into their room and hav a little bit joy time. The activity is described as "private time"

Oh... well I suppose a rimworld colony would be a very lonely place...

That still doesn't explain the work though. If I could get my colonists to enjoy work I'd never have to let them stop.
