a for-fun mod

Step one, steal underpants ...       Step two,      .... Step Three, Profits!

We now have TVs, why not make commercials too...

1.   Research "Commercials"
   a.   the "communication" research would be a pre-req to commercials.
   b.   This would unlock a commercial making station.

2.   Set a pawn at the station to work it.
   a.   I'm not sure what skill they would use. Maybe artistic or a mix between artistic and research (though that may be complicated to program).
   b.   When you click on the table it would show a progress bar with a 0 to 1000. (similarly to researching)
   c.   Once the bar is filled the commercial is shot out to the universe.

3.   Profits
   a.   Perhaps some interstellar corporation appreciates your commercial and beams you down $100.

4.   fun ideas
   a.   This could perhaps be tied into the system that gives artwork descriptions.
   b.   So you would get a commercial for "raw potatoes" or "Exotic artwork" ohhh, or  pro-slave propaganda. then you go to your TV and for a short while you'll get to see a description of your commercial...
   c.   "While surfing through the channels you find a commercial that "Pawn X" made. It's a chocolate commercial featuring 2 chunky German kids who oddly resemble pawn Y and pawn Z from your colony. The kids are ... ... ... the entire scene is composed of digitized miniature teddy bears and set at a Hanukkah party.


I couldn't think of anything else useful for this mod, it would purely be for fun.
