Game need more discovery

I think if Rim World would have more features that extend the discovery part of the game it would make the game a way more exciting, atmospheric and would stretch the gameplay time.

Points that would improve the discovery, in my opinion:

seeds must be found:

Currently you can seed all plants at the beginning of the game.
I think the player would get new tasks, if he is forced to spread out and find the ones he want's.
Respectively new players get surprised by what they can found.
You should also be able to buy/sell rarely seeds from/to traders or other tribes.

Fog of War:
Is already discussed a lot in this forum.
I think it will push the feeling of discover a new planet enormously if you don't know the whole map at the beginning.
You have really to search for good location to build a base instead of scrolling a few seconds over the map. And you must search your pride if you want go hunt.

Travel to other Maps:
Currently you can generate a whole planet but you can always play on one map per game.
It would be interesting if you can go to the rim of the map and go to the adjacent map. This would allow you to visit other biomes to collect stuff, that doesn't exist in your home biome. (like exotic plants, fruits, animals, seeds)
You would also be able to travel into warmer regions, when winter is coming. (Or travel to other tribes, but i think a functioning village would need a lot of time to programming, so maybe in later game versions)
But it's only possible to watch one map at once, so if some characters distributed over different maps you are only able manage the ones, that are on the map you're looking at. The game would stop on the other maps of course. So nothing bad will happen wehen you're not there. (but date will be set to the current, when you come back.)

Vehicles:
Destructed vehicles can be found on the map. And with the right parts that you can also find on the map or buy from traders, you can repair them.
Later in the game (maybe if you have researched a workshop) you should be able to build completly new vehicles. But also still need the components to build them.
- Vehicles can transport people and have a inventory for stuff.
- They need fuel.
- Parts use up. (Tires, Brakes....)
I think of different types of vehicels that are good at different thinks:
- Motorbike: Very fast, but can transport not many people (1-2) and have a very small or no inventory to carry stuff.
- Normal Car: Normal speed, normal amount of people (4-5) that can be transported, small inventory.
- Pickup: Normal speed, maybe a little less than a normal car. Big inventory but can only transport 2-3 persons.
- Truck: Slow, 1-2 persons, but very large inventory.

Riding animals:

You have to tame wild animals and put them in a paddock.
Then you can ride them and travel faster over the map.

But i think i'll write more about animals in a other thread.

More Stuff on maps to discover like:
- Caves with rarely plants, animals or items
- Ruins, lost towns
