Can not rename animals

Sooo I cant rename animals ever? I believe I'm supposed to be able to, correct me if I'm wrong. It wont even show the name in the UI, just on the map. Thanks for any help

at this point, you are not able to name pets, your colonists do, but even that is random. This is not a bug really, more of a purposeful decision.
