They lost the moment they brought an inferno cannon to a wooden room fight.

So that's how you defeat them! Thanks!

No, that's called "Dev console" :D I hate these f***ers with a passion. Actually, I don't mind the enemies, but I hate the "poison" and "evil" ship ideas. Forces you into random BS battles when all you have are 5 guys with pistols and knives...

Tagasaki

try getting a sniper rifle and give it to your best shooter colonist (optional careful shooter trait) and shoot them from afar, but this only works against poison and evil ship, try to make them come out and then take a pot shot at each mechs.

If they come in with drop pods well only your defences will be decided victory or defeat.

Panzer

Needs a negative thought "died in repulsive room" ;D

Well, that's the entire purpose, to force you on the offensive. It can be rather hard if you don't get a weapons trader before it, though. At least the Scythers are, Centipedes are outranged by the survival rifle so with some kiting they won't even be able to hurt you.

or if you have a personal shield, put that person closets to the mechs, they will target him, while the rest of the colony kills them . Just be careful of the dang inferno cannon, as the shield does not protect against burns.  But alpaca wool does protect against burns.

I did not realize this, good to know.

Leather of the elusive wild boar is even better. It provides 400% protection against fire, even more than thrumbofur.

TLHeart

the wild boar is far from elusive, they breed quickly in captivity.

Futrettamer

and I just happen to have some tame alpaca and a stack of wool :)
