I can't imagine this not being suggested before but I figure I'll suggest it myself. I've always wanted a slider threshold for craftable items, specifically food. I.E. Craft Simple Meals until you have 50, ignore crafting until you have <30 and then craft to 50 again. That way, you don't have someone crafting 10 meals every 5 minutes.

As you said it's really great for cooks, so they don't spring into action after a single meal has been eaten. They have time to do other stuff.

It's crazy how this isn't in vanilla though

Awesome, thank you! Yes, this definitely needs to be in vanilla.

Now we only need something like this for storage zones. So you can set a zone to always a keep a few items and redirect the overflow elsewhere. You can sort of do that with priorities now, but you have the same problem that when you go even 1 below the stack limit someone had to immediately top it up.

Fairly simple math rules to implement this.

If quantity less than x, craft until quantity = y
(ie if meals in storage = less than 30, craft meals until storage = 50
