Critical hit with insanity lance

I would make a comic strip with screenshots, but it wasn't possible due to Permadeath.

I bought a psychic insanity lance in case a raider shows up with triple rocket launcher. Eventually, a pirate raid came with two. I aimed the insanity lance, but my nearest colonist was pretty far away.

By the time the colonist reached the lance, the pirates were passing past a... boomrat. The wretched creature made the rocket trooper furious! He lashed at the boomrat. The boomrat fought back! Alarmed by the screams, two melee pirates turned back and started beating the rodent. It exploded, taking the rocket wielder to hell with him, wounding the rest.
