Asking for help here is like asking for treatment from a drug addiction at a heroin den  :P

I'm 14 hours into a marathon RimWorld gaming session myself.

Well, you could try going outside I suppose. I wouldn't recommend it though. The last time I did so myself, some sort of cosmic light rays hit my body and it burned like acid. I believe people refer to this as "sunlight", such a fanciful name for killer rays from space.

Or you could press Alt+F4 and lo and behold you're out of Rimworld.

But then the shortcut icon is there to tempt you to get in and play even further.

It's not that hard.  Don't try to go cold turkey.  Just cut back your dose.  You see those little arrows in the lower right hand corner?  Hit the single arrow and watch the game slow to a crawl.  When you get bored, hit pause and do something else :)
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.

Someone actually wants to QUIT Rimworld?!?  :o

WHY?!? For the love of all that is colonial! WHY?!?  :'(
It matters not if we win or fail. It's that we stood and faced it.

Not sure if you said that jokingly or you were serious. But gaming addiction is a serious matter so I will assume you were at least partially troubled by your binges.

As a former gaming addict, who currently still plays, I can tell you that one way to gain some modicum of control over binges is by looking at the way you feel before you play, and what playing makes you feel like. Examples:

Before/after
Depressed/Relieved
Flat/Excited
Insignificant/Important (as in, look at these colonists, their lives depend on me. I think they love me back. Or, OMG, Tynan replied to my thread!)
Alone/supported by the gaming community
Meaningless/Meaningful

Etc. etc. I can't speak for others, but for me, addictive gaming was always rooted in some deep trauma of some sort, like being in abusive relationships with family and partners, or suffering from bullying or racism or some other form negativity that made me want to seek a safe haven, or simply forget.

So yeah, when I feel good about life, I can truly be a recreational player, actually stop at 12am and not suddenly realize 6 hours went away and the sun is rising and crap I am screwed because I have school/work/life that now I will surely fail at because of my fatigue.

So if you can't stop but really want to, or feel something is not quite right with your lack of control over your gaming binges, I suggest you get help, try to build more connections to people IRL, or just talk about this to someone IRL if possible. Try to get some clarity and move from there.

I also agree cold turkey is not a good idea. Sometimes one needs an escape (pod), or a (prison) break from life. All in good measure.

I'd be more worried that you will eventually burn yourself out on the game if you play that long.  All games eventually will get dull if you play them too much... except mmos.. I think they eventually just turn into zombies...
Question:What's better than a Chocolate Chip Cookie?
Answer: I don't want to know the answer...
