Weird Temp Behavior in Small Freezers

I created a 2x1 freezer to store meals for my dining room. I cool it down with 1 Cooler, which can keep it at 30F by itself. However, it's so small that heat transfers into it quicker than the Cooler ticks. As a result, its temp constantly jumps from 30F to 40F, back down to 30F, repeat ad nauseum. I ended up setting the target temp to 0F just to keep it constantly frozen.

Could this be fixed in some future patch? It seems weird that heat transfer ticks faster than the Cooler does.

Well,  maybe your colonists are constantly going into it? When that happens, usually more heat will get transferred to your food storage. Basically, if your colonists keep going in and out, the food storage temp and the dining room temp will be balanced.

And this can be easily avoided by putting your dining room *in* the freezer.  Along with the entertainment center, the chessboard, and the horseshoes pin.
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.

Nope, this was occuring even in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping. And cycling in 2-second intervals: it'd be at 30F, jump to 40F, gradually return to 30F, rinse and repeat.

Destroy the entire thing and make a new freezer then

I just set the target tempt to 10F instead so it's still frozen even with the temp leaps.

make a door sandwich for your freezer. is a way to insulate cold or heat. Normal door+Autodoor+Normal door. If you a bit rich the normal door might be replaced for auto one, for faster access.

I think its better to have one BIG ass freezer and a reck room next to the BIG ass freezer so they can walk in grab a fine meal and walk into the next room eat and get out! Simple,I think.

Normally I do that, but this colony I decided to build the rec room away from the giant freezer & still wanted a way to keep some food nearby.
