Different Stone Types

The main reason to use stone is because it is completely fireproof.  So it is a good way to protect against lightning strikes and when things burn nearby.  It is not bad as a protective material but you do not want it in areas where sappers are going towards since they will use grenades which deals extra damage to stones.

Now I know why those asshat triple rockets always blow up columns of stone traps.

But as long as Snipers outrange grenadiers, I will not use precious steel to build walls.

I built some anti-mech bunkers out of plasteel (just a few columns to hide behind). Well worth it. Granite is just about enough against them, but risky.
