Are wargs worth it?

It would also be nice to have a 'heel' command, to command the animals to go to the pawn.  I've lost a few bonded animals that were disobeying the "restricted to" area and wandering into a live combat situation.
Try the Pet Follow mod maybe. It's not exactly what you want, but it prevents animals from following their master when drafted if you set that. Instead they stay in their zones.

Without you always have to remove the master and then re-add. Just way too annoying

i don't like wargs.
move speed is 5, slower than wolves and cougars, no faster than boars.
DPS 6.44, even worse than a dromedary.
And wargs are wild: wildness 80%
how long would it take to train an army of wargs?

Just diversify.
you need damage dealer: bear (5%)
flanking attacker/pursuer: panther (5%)
and a lot of bullet sponges: boar (90%)

I agree there are a lot of animals better than wargs. They're almost just a novelty right now. But I hope in the future their stats can be tweaked to be something of a high damage dealer that can't take the beating a bear does.

They eat up all the bodies so you don't have to get the constant mood debuffs from colonists seeing them (the bodies I mean).
How do you get them to snack on the corpses reliably? Put them in a zone out of the way and keep the animals in a zone that has the corpses as the only source of food?
When I have Wargs, I put their sleeping spots immediately outside a freezer specifically for corpses.  Then they haul their own food to it's storage spot, and eat it as they need to.  I've never had a game with Wargs where I didn't get enough raiders to 100% cover their food needs =)

Wargs are awesome. Just set a stockpile that only accepts human corpses and forbid your Wargs from getting to your food stockpiles so their only choice is the dead bodies. It's an efficient way to dispose of bodies and still be productive.

No rest for the staggeringly ugly and abrasive, I guess.
