two colony population

Does the population cap count every colonies population towards that cap or each individual colony have its own cap ?

Seems to be per map (per individual colony).

I  had 2 colonies with 20+ people each on Cassandra so i'd say its per colony. Though managing 2 colonies is a bitch a main Fortress and small mining/farming colonies is the way to go.
