Malaria and Penoxycyline

I've been doing some research on how Penoxycyline works in Rimworld, and while the change to diseases (and especially Malaria) are positive, the Penoxycyline solution needs a big buff. From what I understand, Penoxycyline now saves colonists a flat rate of 61% immunity if they contract any disease while they are under the effects of the drug. Unfortunately, Malaria starts out at 60% or more to the finish line immediately on a regular basis. This means in order to save a colonist you need a +10 doctor, a medical bed, a vitals monitor, only Glitterworld meds and of course a lifetime supply of Penoxycyline. Even endgame colonies frequently won't have all of these. Wouldn't a flat raise of immunity from 61% to 75% with Penoxycyline make more sense, not just in Gameplay but also with realism? No one with access to medicine dies from Malaria anymore. We can get rid of them entirely within several days.

Yes, that is one thing that Penoxycyline does.  Its fantastic for plague in that use.

HOWEVER, Penoxycyline is SUPPOSED to be taken as a preventative measure.  If you have taken penoxycyline, you can't get malaria.  In fact the other use - boosting immunity to 60% - isn't even mentioned in the description and is just something players discovered after the fact.

Malaria doesn't start at 60% severity. It starts at 0% severity, and gets revealed to the player at 63% severity. A healthy, <40 year old pawn will develop 55%-57% immunity over that same period; If they had taken malariblock within 5 days of the infection starting, they would develop immunity without it ever being revealed at all.

Even without malariblock, you don't need glitterworld meds for healthy pawns to beat it. With a level 10 skill doctor, prompt treatment, and bedrest, you don't even need to use meds at all; even without hospital beds or vitals monitors their average tend quality is good enough to easily beat it. A 60 year old pawn with 90% blood filtration still only needs regular medicine, not glitterworld medicine.

Now miss one kidney there needs a damn good tend quality to survive.

I don't understand, in my current game, each time a disease prevented by the penoxicilline start, my colonists have deirectly 94 immunity percent and need only one treatment.
It's possible it depends of how clean is your home base, but I'm not sure.
Just avoid to let blood in the middle of your base for a while.
I will never do worse than what I do now.
It's what self-improvement means.

If they've already taken penoxicilline when they get the disease, they starts at 60% immunity while the disease is at 0%. By the time the disease is revealed, their natural immunity has already raised it to 93%. I realized this when my colonists took penxicilline for malaria, then contracted the plague a few days later; they were already at 93% immunity for the plague.

To be pedantic, the malariblock sets immunity to 61% and then immunity slowly decays from there. Plague & sleeping sickness decay at 2% per day, and malaria at 3% per day. So malaria acquired three days after taking malariblock starts at ~52% immunity.

Kidneys affect disease resistance? What is going on in this game! Kidneys have nothing to do with malaria resistance! I've only got half my kidneys and my response to the disease would be identical to anyone else's here!
I guess my colonist needs a kidney transplant then! Any takers? Muhahahhahahha!

Pushover

Blood filtration (and blood pumping) affect immunity gain. With 1 kidney, you are gaining immunity at 50%, so it's much harder to survive a disease.
