So basically I just heared that Rimworld has really less ctds on linux than on windows and want to test it.
I set up the vm, downloaded the linux version on my host OS, unpacked it and copied it to my ubuntu16.04 64 bit VM.
After that i tried to run RimWorld1393Linux.x86.64 but it pops up and instantly vanishes again. The x86 version does nothing.
I read the Notes for Linux users and - due to having a non-english vm - tried to use the startscript, but i recieve following errors:
start_RimWorld.sh: 14: start_RimWorld.sh: [[: not found
start_RimWorld.sh: 33: start_RimWorld.sh: ./RimWorld1393Linux.x86: not found

What could it be ?

Im am neither very expierienced in VMs nor in Linux (i just sometimes use putty to manage my v-server for teamspeak), so please keep that in mind when answering to me.

edit:// this could also be moved to the technical support forum. I just posted it here, because I found a simular thread to mine and already was in the forum. Move it where ever it is more fitting.

edit2:// i changed the system language now to english, because i read that my language interpreting commas wrong can cause errors, but to no avail

What kind of graphics drivers/hardware are you emulating in the VM? That's probably the issue.

I run Rimworld on Linux Mint (an Ubuntu derivative) without problems. But it's a bare metal install, not a VM, and I put no small amount of effort into getting my GPU working properly. *ugh*
