Hey guys and gals!

As you can tell by my post count, I'm new here.  Been eyeing this game for a long time and took the dive.  I just finished the tutorial and chose a story teller, and it seems like I can just keep playing the whole game like this.  Is that correct or should I start a new game from the main menu?

I only ask because at some point near the end of the tutorial it said that some events were disabled for the tutorial, and I'm just making sure they get re-enabled if you carry on like a normal game.

If you CAN just continue using what you started in the tutorial, I might suggest that this point it made a little more clearly when you end the tutorial.  I'm sure many peeps restarted from scratch after finishing the tutorial.

Thanks!  Looking forward to having some fun with this :)

I *believe* that once you choose the storyteller, you are now off of the tutorial-rails and the game will go normally.

I agree. That said, I think you should start over. Starting with the tutorial doesn't give you any choice in where you start to build. I believe starting the process of choosing where you start to build is an important one, and one that you should start making immediately. Not saying you have to get it right! (not that there is a right answer) Just that you should start making that decision as most likely it will influence how you build and defend. Making those choices will help you learn faster as your first colonies fail miserably  ;D

You'll have made decisions that going forward you will see that you either liked or did not like. It's all those small little things that help to make this game so much fun.

Of course this first colony may crash and burn so fast that you'll be starting a new one soon anyway! LOL!

Thanks for the input guys!  I may start over because, like you said, I didn't get to choose where to build.  But I think I can tear down a few things and keep going.  I'll try it out for a while and see.  Everyone might die anyways before I get the hang of it lol

I'd say stick with it.  Early wooden buildings can be deconstructed and rebuilt very easily.  In any case, playing a map with suboptimally placed buildings will give you the experience you need to know what works and what doesn't for next time.

Then again, the tutorial start might not feel like yours, and that's important too.  Do whatever will be most fun.

I'd say restart.  I know it takes a long time to load, but I love choosing the medium size Planet with 100% coverage then finding the exact biome I want to start in (usually as close as possible to 2-3 towns/villages).

But I will suggest as you're still learning, go with Phoebe and "some challenge" or less.  Otherwise it can get very frustratingwith having to reload your game many times to avert disaster.

I played for a few hours, but once I got the hang of how it works, I decided to start with a new colony, which is doing much better now!
