So i was thinking about a system that make the big mood change less effective the more a colonist have it, and here is why it would be nice.

Currently, when a colonist sleep in a cramped, crowded, dirty room, they experience bad mood, which is expected. But even when they live in these condition all their life, they are still mad about that crappy bed and these rock walls. I mean, anyone would just roll with it after a moment, right? And the reverse is also true. If you eat lavish meal 3 times a day and live in a golden palace with silver doors, after a moment you will not even be impressed by that godly statue the expert sculpting man just placed beside your bed.

And when the life style of your colonist suddenly change, the "mood points" will hit a lot harder. If you ate paste all your life and suddenly a lavish meal drops from a raider pocket, oh man will it be good! And if you ate lavish meal all your life, even a simple meal would taste awful af.

So, here is my 2 cent on how to implement it. You could have a meter that shows the lifestyle of a single colonist, granting him a fixed bonus or malus for each mood thing he has, and that change the longer he stays in bad or good mood. It could clearly break the game and bring up a lot of exploit, so it need to be well balanced, and no need to do a -20 or +50, maybe a +5 or -5 bonus mood max could be enough, but hey, i'm no dev.

So here it is. You could change the fixed bonus to a percentage based bonus, or even have every mood changing event have a habit bar of its own, but that would be pretty hard to see, so yea.

I hope this will give you idea, for new mods or new official update, and feel free to comment
