Playing with dev mode, I found a bug!!!

IF you clear out a mine-able area (With deconstruct), you get infinite "roof collapse"

erdrik

If it is a bug report it in the bug report forum.
Also if it is a bug you need to be way more detailed than that.

crap, my bad.   (MOD please move it for me, I seem to have forgotten how boards work today)

I don't know what more I can add.   If you clear out a mine-able chunk of rock, metal, ore,  you will get "roof collapse" messages till the end of time.  lol  No way to stop it.   Making it "no roof" or  "clear roof" area has no effect.

*edit for readability

erdrik

What do you mean by "clear out" a mine-able chunk of rock?
What tool are you using to do it?

The only thing Im seeing is "Clear Area", and it cleanly removes the roofs for me.
No collapse or anything.

The brown rock debris(SEE PIC THREE) will be there forever.

As soon as it is cleaned, it "collapses" again.

I think it can be stopped by building a house on it (cant remember), but that is it.

erdrik

Well that clears things up, but it is not actually a bug.
It continually collapses because there is a "Overhead Mountain Roof" there.
Unlike the Thin Rock Roof, or Constructed Roof, "Overhead Mountain Roof" will never go away.(and thus always collapses)

To prevent this you are suppose to build walls to support the roof.

I'm locking this because this is not a suggestion, and as erdrik says (thanks for the assist on this one. Much appreciated) if this is a bug report then this is WAD as all roof tiles need support even in a mountain.
