My Suggestions

I purchased Rimworld on Steam recently, and I love it, this game is awesome. To that end I would like to make some suggestions for features I'd like to see in the future. I'm sure I'm not about to say anything that anyone else hasn't already, but to be honest I didn't want to dig through a very large sections of the forum either.

1. I'd like to see the social system developed more. It would be interesting if the player had some level of control over what happens with the people. Even if it's something small, like giving a command to try to get closer to someone, then letting the computer take over from there. Just guiding a general direction that may or may not work out.

2. I'd like to see more items in the game, this is likely the most commonly said thing I'd imagine. I'd like to see more guns, armor, cybernetics, and surgeries. Throw in some clothing, joy items, and so on. It's not always about tactical for me. I like the management and development side of things as well, and more options equal more fun for me.

3. I'd also like to see more development in the area of game economics. Maybe trade routes, or perhaps there could even be things like a local bizarre where you can send a caravan to buy/sell, and other factions do the same thing. Like a meeting place for merchants to offer stuff that might not be easy to come by otherwise.

4. I think the combat system is pretty solid, but there's still one thing that bugs me. Not being able to carry more than one weapon at a time. I have to use a mod to carry a pistol for a sidearm, and a small melee weapon. I'd like to see this added to the game as a standard feature.

5. Hauling is also another area that could use some improvement. Maybe a backpack or basket or something to make it easier to carry things. It'd make it a whole lot easier to deal with things early on. I recently played the tribal option, and they were knocking down forests to keep the wood fuel coming and the buildings rising.

6. Mounts/Vehicles would be a nice addition as well. Letting people tame and train animals as beasts of burden. Then maybe later on with enough research you could start fashioning parts to put a buggy or something together. Be another good use for chemfuel.

7. Kids would be a great addition to the game, although I realize that everything surrounding something like that would require a huge addition to the game. Never the less, I'm still in favor of it.

8. Mining is fine except for one thing, trying to dig in a straight line. You have to wait for the colonist to dig one spot, then highlight another, get them to dig, highlight another, etc, etc. I would like to see an option where you can just highlight a straight line of squares for digging.

9. Doctoring, there is something about this that bugs me to no end. My colony gets raided, I kill the raiders, colonists need medical afterward. They head over to the hospital, get in the beds, and what's the doctor do, decide it's time to call it a night and go to sleep. Nevermind that one of the colonists will bleed to death in five hours. Critically wounded colonists in the hospital who are bleeding to death, should take priority over everything else for the doctors. Tend to them first, then worry about eating, sleeping, socializing, and all that others stuff.

That's about it for now, if I think of anything else I'll be sure to post it.

Orders, mine.
A muffalo encountered a vimp near a patch of sweet vegetables. A struggle ensued. The muffalo gored the vimp with its horns. The vimp bit the muffalo with its beak. Finally, the vimp was bested, sending large chunks of its flesh in every direction. But the muffalo was injured. It shed a single tear.

1) not sure what you mean but kinda sounds like dating sim? (so i'm contra)
2) mods
3) this already exists. ancient roads and faction bases. some have very rare stuff.
4) would throw off current balance, so probably wont be added. for realism reasons i would like to see it though. maybe one day.
5) had hauling issues for the longest time. turns out, you cant really play the game without some micro, lowering difficulty or just very efficient resource management. basket would throw off balance and hard to implement. still, i'd like to see it aswell, even if just for newbies.
6) mods and older suggestions. (but i guess that applies to all of your points)

8) it already exists. use the dig tool for that. it works like the harvest tool and so on.
9) it's his sleep time so he goes to sleep. if you want him to work overtime, use restrict and make him work night shifts.
