mental break ideas/disasters

i would like to see some different mental breaks, and disasters. for example: people who become too depressed can shoot themselves, possibly killing or knocking themselves out. as far as disasters, something like a meteor shower would be interesting; such as meteors containing things like metal and uranium would rain down in areas: effectively destroying stuff you built. also, something along the lines of improved turret designs sold by weapon vendors? (and other things of the sort sold by respective vendors/traders)
