[MOD REQUEST] [G]ear hotkey

I'm looking for the world's simplest mod which just adds a hotkey, e.g. [G], to open the Gear pane.

This would make it so much easier to go through all your pack animals when a caravan arrives and tell each one to dump their inventory (after assigning them to a bulk "unloading zone", of course).

Does such a mod exist?  Can I tip anyone a beer to write one?  (I'm in A17)

While we're at it, a hotkey to toggle the environment display would also be most welcome.

Can any experienced modders comment how feasible this would be and maybe point to one or two useful API methods/hooks for showing stock panes / capturing keys?
