You can research a tube that you can put people and upgrade them and create people
1.upgrading it take 8 rim moths to upgrade you can make them resistant to cold heat more strong better eyes better brain ets. If the process is dameged the person may take the opposite effect weaker.damaged brain. Or die
2.Creating people you can take people's DNA you can researche a tube that can copy that person 100% the same if the persons had a missing arm wen the DNA is take the copy have no arm it take 1 rim year to create the copy and he have the same skill's and traits as the original to make the tube it take 100 plassteel 200 uranium 1 AI core 50 gold and 75 steel
Thing that can happen to the tubes
During a solar frayer there a chance the tube will break and two thing can happen   first the the copy can die or it will come out a psychotic monster it will attack everything and you'll need to build the tube again

modifying traits sounds like a good idea if you can give people better body parts why not a better personality. Better body parts are already taken up by prosthetics which should cover more than limbs eventually. I'm not sure about cloning though you could get a person with 20skill then make a army of that person.

Yes it will be op to have an army of 20 skilled but can you survive till then it takes 1 rimworld year to make the copy and the tubes have 100 HP it take a couple of shoots to destroy it and the chance of the tube braking and spawning the monster
And the enhancing of people bionics cancel the effect becouse its not a upgraded hand or leg and you can't upgrade bionics becouse its not a humanbody part
