Whenever I tried to record RimWorld gameplay with fraps, it never works. When I start to record, all the icons(architecture button, mateial count in top left) disappear. Also, I can't click on anything on screen. Then when I start recording, everything comes back. I want to record!!!!! Help!!

I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself

The dubious quotes list is now public. See it here

No, it's a different problem. When I get into the game and I try to record, I am unable to click on anything until I stop recording.

can i ask if your running fullscreen or windowed? remember its programmed/created with unity, so you want to troubleshoot the problem by looking at issues with UNITY itself not RimWorld, RW was simply made on the UNITY platform. This is from my experiences so try these ideas out see if it helps...

*FRAPS wont record properly on UNITY with resolution above 1440 x 900 dimensions.
*FRAPS wont record with UNITY properly on Windows 7 - Aero. if your using a the theme Aero on windows 7 or a theme that utilizes the aero effect change to windows basic, this also applies to windows 8, 8.1 and 10 (Metro and Glass themes on Win8+10 utilize aero)

Hope it works, bud otherwise im stumped personally.

Whenever I tried to record RimWorld gameplay with fraps, all the icons disappear.

In Rimworld, F9 is mapped to "hide UI" so you can take screenshots (with F10). Go into your key bindings and remap "hide UI" (a.k.a. screenshot mode) to something else, like F11.
