Better Defenses!

This idea came about after reading some posts by some of the veteran players (and maybe a little snooty :P) who dislike the old kill box method. I myself also dislike this idea, which I named "runway of death", as things run one way towards death! I'll keep this short and simple and put it down to dot points!

  • Advanced Sandbags: Stemmed from the idea of barricades. They are more durable, provide more cover and when there is no way around to kill pawns, enemies will shoot/break them down. (Sandbags -> Stuff Barricade -> Embrasure Barricade -> Etc)
  • (1)Advanced Turrets: Man operated turrets work like auto turrets but fire more regularly and do increased damage based on gun skill.
  • (2)Advanced Turrets: Alternative weapon type, (spread, explosive, burst, minigun, etc)
  • (3)Advanced Turrets: 3 upgrades for all (increase fire rate, increased damage, increase range)
  • Reduced raid sizes in favor of more difficult units: Reduces lag, cleanup, etc. but maintains difficulty!
  • Floor Traps: Mines were removed, but having traps that apply small amount of fire (they require shells to make?), nets 'stun' targets for a few seconds (require cloth), and so forth.

This is all I could think of for now. But having these added would really give the idea of having a fortress / castle / battle front more of a tactical advantage, as opposed to just bunkering in the side of a mountain.

I'd really like to see a couple of turrets from this mod added to the base game: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=9521.0

Like I suggested earlier, pitfalls.

Also, I'd like to add "Mounted HMG"; Low accuracy at long range, but enough range to at least target snipers.

So, at the very least, you can have, like, a 1% chance of nailing them with it.

I think more turret and manned turrets are probably the easiest to add in at the moment.

However, I'd still like to see better options for man traps.

Maybe Tynan should look at the original Stronghold Crusader games for ideas about defenses/traps/etc?
