How to know the right Mod Order

When putting mods into the game, how do I know which order to load them in? I notice most mod pages don't specify when to load them in. Is it just a thing people should know and I don't know enough about modding or is there some science to it per say? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

It really only matters when you have multiple mods that touch the same thing, so if you have 2 mods and they both overwrite the cotton plant, 1 makes the plant drop raw cotton, the other makes it drop a laser rifle, whichever one is loaded last will take precedence.
