Now, it gets so annoying when you find out that some bloody squirrel/boomrat has eaten your crops, and you didn't notice it so you couldn't set it to be hunted. Wouldn't it be better if you had hunting zones, and anything inside of this area was automatically set to be hunted, and anything outside of this area is classed as 'Fine'. Obviously, you could still keep the hunting tool mechanism. Maybe when animals enter this area, they are set to be hunted, and when they leave, they are not. This could at least protect your crops from pests. Oh, and do wild animals poop? It would give more of a reason for you to use these zones.
Only in RimWorld is the phrase "31 Heavily-Armed Siegers are currently bombing your base" preferable to "50 manhunting squirrels are attacking your colony"

When I consider how dumb colonists are these days i wouldn't want them to auto-attack animals around my crops, especially boomrat or boomalope!

You can always keep crops safe by keeping them behind walls and unroofing area.

I like this idea, not so much for protecting crops, but just for less micromanagement of my hunters. It would be nice to be able to set a large area outside my base, and my hunter just goes in there and hunts anything that moves. This will prevent me from having to scroll around the map to find game, click on them, and mark them as hunted. It would also prevent my hunters from trekking all the way across the map to kill a Muffalo that I marked to kill a long time ago and has migrated away. It would be awesome if it worked like the storage areas where you could check off what you wanted to be hunted. So, in theory, you could zone the whole map and tell it just to hunt the bigger game, but leave the boomrats and squirrels alone.

Brilliant elaboration. Thanks for the support!
