i was recently playing the game "sheltered" http://store.steampowered.com/app/356040/ and there were cannibalism and people curling up into a catatonic fugue after too much trauma.

A Friend

Eh, I don't know about babies. I think it would be more of something that will greatly affect mood should anything happen to a pawn's friend/rival and with a touch of tiny events like the fights thing. Well, at least that's what I expect it to be. But anyways, making pawns feel much more human would be a very great addition to Rimworld's story telling aspect. Now you don't have to feel attached to your characters. The game will do it for you and you would have to work around that.

You'll finally have a reason to not butcher up Urist McUseless at risk of sending his friends to depression and killing themselves. Though I would like to see a banishment option and turning down wanderers if so.

Edit: I do hope that things like deaths, cannibalism, refusing to help wanderers, etc. would have more of a long term impact. So as the game progresses longer and longer. Your colonists would slowly become bits unstable of wrecks or more hardened survivors as they endure various things the game throws at them. Pawns may break down and cry during a raid, or they may be so used to death at some point that they won't suffer mood debuffs from friends, families, enemies dying right in front of them. THE POSSIBILITES :U

I'm going to echo that it's probably not SEX and BABIES. More like inter-colonist relationships to flesh out the relevant kickstarter tile: "colonists form relationships. Friendships, romances, and rivalries."

Just another reason for psychopaths so they won't be affected by feelings. I love how whenever a new feature comes out in RimWorld, someone finds a way to exploit and/or avoid it.

On the flip side, psychopaths might miss out on all the mood buffs of friendship and family just as easily as they miss out on the negatives.
