what's the difference between colony and community?

i just saw the new third option : colony, tribe, community.

tried to google what community be like compared to colony and tribe.. google just gave me potatoes.

I don't know where you're seeing community but my rim world says there's only tribe and colony. There is nothing on the dev log to suggest another type. The difference between tribe and colony is tech level and type of colonist.

A colony is made up of colonists
a community is made up of communists

I have no such option in my game so it is propably some mod you have.

Community - town type faction. The one with mayor and mid-tech.
