Landing site bug

So I had a save but everyone kept going berserk, so I decided to restart on the same seed in the exact same spot but use the rich explorer scenario, but when I choose the exact same landing site, the map was differnet. I even retried it with different map sizes and the crashlanded scenario again, but I always landed in that different map. I had though restarted on the correct same map a couple of times already, and every single one of those times, it worked correctly and I got the same map, but now I get a different map. Help!

That's not a bug, that just means there was a change in the map generation(at least that seems most likely to be the case to me). Is the map in question you are talking about from a different version of the game?

I don't think so, because I replayed on that exact map a few times and it worked correctly and I got the right map, but then suddenly when I restarted again, the map changed.

If there was a change in map generation, is there then any chance to find the correct landing site again?

Make sure you are using the same size map and world, sometimes having that little variation changes the map entirely.

Tried with all the different sizes, still no luck.

Did you load any mods lately? If your game client hasn't changed, and you are using the same seed, and the same cell, you changed something, as the generation algorithm is deterministic (for the major map features; I think the placement of ancient sites does not wholly use the same seed).

No, I don't even have any mods installed.

Some minor features will be different, such as geothermal vent locations.  But the same seed and the same co-ordinates should ALWAYS create the same basic land & hills.

If that is not the case, please post here both the seed and the co-ordinates along with a screenshot of the area.  If we can confirm a bug is present, I'll move this to the Bugs forum.

I might suggest that he find an older savegame, then go into the World tab, and extract the seed and coordinate from that tab. That will show the old coordinate. Then he can show the map. And then he can show using the same seed and coordinate resulting a different map.

I'm already playing on another world, so I don't need the seed anymore, but I'll send a picture of the world map and the exact landing site tommorow.
