The problem that comes with animals this is that the micromanagement of their population is pretty killing, mostly from the chickens. Also if I want to have, say, 20 bears for defense, i would have to keep checking them after each raid, to see if they died, then check when they are pregnant so they dont over populate, put the pregnant ones in safe areas... And being counting them in the animal tab every time... Same, and worse, with chickens.

I dont have a "really good idea" to deal with this, but roughly my idea is to set in the animal tab an upper limit, and warn you when it is reached, or choose to slaughter automatically the "worst" animals alive (most injuries and/or most age, check somehow the training) when you get a new tamed one or a new offspring.

If we have the option to automatically slaughter them, then most of animals would be very viable for meat since now the chickens are very attractive for this cause you dont have to micro their eggs, just gather them all.

Some suggestions:
- set in the animal tab to tame specific animals (squirrels, for example) until you met the limit said above.
- hysteresis (like the mod) for the tame/ breed/ slaughter features.
- Auto set animals in areas depending on their state, like pregnancy.
- animals should be a bit less dumb about temperature reasons. If they are allowed a big area, and its cold in one side and warm in another side... They should stay in the warm side instead of dying of hypothermia
- Same goes for combat, if they hear shoots they could try to flee, if they are chickens or similar animals.
