Difficulty question

Hey colonists,
I really love the game so far, the only thing i don't like that much are the npc raids. In the beginning they are ok, but in the later game they are too much for me and getting frustating.
Now there are these different difficulty levels, and i would prefer to play on "peaceful" to completly disable the raids.
Now my question, does the difficulty level also affect other parts of the game?
I tried some plays with the hardest level and had a lot of fun (until the first raid arrived) and i felt that there were a lot more things happening as when i play in peaceful.
So, what i actually want is the hardest difficulty level but without raids. Is this possible?

Yes.

You can disable them completely with a bit of modding. I can teach you how, but I have no clue if posting this is against forum rules or not. To be on safe side, PM me if you are interested.

(I am at work now, so I am unable to provide you with a "ready to go" mod, but I can guide you in the process.)

Yes, there was a mod for A15 which disabled the raids, but.. i don't know, i always had the feeling that this also affects other things because when activated, i rarely found any differences between the easiest and hardest difficulty regarding the events that occur. Could have been pure coincidence of course...

Currently at work, too, but i might come back to you in the evening regarding the modding guide ;)

You could always leave it at a high difficulty and then use dev mode to wipe out any raids you don't want to deal with. It's a single player game, who cares what you do, don't worry if someone wants to judge you for it, not that they'll ever know if you don't tell them.

You don't even need to mod it, if you select the Crashlanded Scenario, select Scenario Editor, click the X next to Edit mode to enable it and Add Part>Disable Incident You can disable any of the events you want. Enemy raid is in there as an event that can be disabled.

If the raids are your only problem, but you are concerned of lowest overall difficulty, I do have a solution for you.

It's a super-turret, range 150 (vanilla had 30), damage 50 (vanilla 11), 95% accuracy at any range, 1000 HP, not flammable, and quite pretty (beauty 10, vanilla was -60).  On top of that, each one supplies the power grid with 350 MW (instead of taking), and they never explode from damage. Ah, and you can construct them from stone too. (it's in attachment, I assume you know how to install it)

Place one of those at the center of the map and make sure you stay away from line of fire. No more raid problems. :P

If you still want the raids disabled, you must tell me if you also want infestations, manhunting packs and crazed animals disabled.

lol, thanks! that would suit perfectly to one of my "test" colonies, it's only 2 people, one crazy psycho scientist with a sex slave as assistant who are just killing everyone who tries to join the colony. Wondering how long they will make it ;)

And it's just the raids i want to get rid of, but if it's possible without modding, i would prefer the solutions provided earlier, i will try them tonight!
