give him a steel lance and go vengeful berserk mode to the raid chaising him. If he survives i usually allow this useless pawns to stay (some sort of natural selection xD)

Getting hit in the face with an inferno cannon round would solve Geek Hlynur's existential angst quickly enough.
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.
