Medicine for tribal and medieval technology levels

Aloe and healroot are a fine start, but they feel a bit samey after a while; like there's just heal speed and every medicine is somewhere on that worst..best spread. So what about some variety?
  • Recipes that produce medications for specific ailments
  • Addiction substitutes; not addicting but the original addiction remains
  • Liquors as an ingredient for elixers
  • mundane ingredients: mushrooms, cactus, smokeleaf
  • Ingredient tie-ins for mods, such as Vegetable Garden and More Monsters
Does this seem like it would be a fun thing to have in your game?
