Colonists going across the map to idle

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. There's no "noob support" category and I'm not sure if it's a bug.

So if I choose to build my base away from the initial spawn area (where your pods landed), my colonists still keep returning to that area when they idle.  I deleted the initial stockpiles and the sleep spots, and set a home zone at my build site, yet... they keep going back.  Have I missed something?

I can't remember when I last updated this (it may have been post-A3), but I just tried it and they do this:

1. If there is are nearby colony buildings, wander near those.
2. If there is no nearby building (about 50 squares around), wander randomly.

In any case, it seems this is fixed for A4.
