[1.0] Cannot extinguish corpse outside of home area

Just as the title says. If there is a burning corpse on the map I should to be able to right click and tell a pawn to extinguish but it doesn't allow it outside of home.

Hi,
that has nothing to do with corpse.
Extinquish fire are only done inside the home area, doesn't matter if corpse,chemfuel or grass.
You can either just temp. create a homezone around the fire, so you pawn's going by themself.
Or draft them and just move them next to the fire.

Thanks for trying to help, however none of what you said changes the fact that I think this should be considered a bug. It has to do with the corpse because the fact that it is a corpse is the reason why the home area should be irrelevant. You will often want to save corpses from burning regardless of where they are located. It should be a different activity than normal terrain firefighting. This is just an interface limitation that serves no purpose. There are other situations where the game provides right-click options for tasks that are not simple prioritizations (e.g. capturing downed raiders) and I think this should be similar.

Perhaps it would help if I explained my specific in-game situation. I had wild boomalopes wandering too close to my crops, so I drafted someone to scare them off. I didn't want to just hunt them because I wanted more control over where they might die. After I killed one, it was on fire. I wanted to save the corpse for the meat but had no option to haul or extinguish it. The only option was to do as you said and temporarily zone it as home. That should *not* be the way the player should be expected to do that. It's an interface limitation that should be considered a bug.

You think so, i don't and who know's about the devs.
In your case the corpse is valueable for you, someone else maybe want to protect the stack of chemfuel.
And in your case it made more sense to draft the closest pawn and send him to the fire, then to wait for the next free pawn to move there for firefight.
But the firefight feature is only based on zones not on items. So it isn't a bug since it work's like intended.

You can made a suggestion about firefight at the suggestion subforum.

And btw. i though you wanted to rescue the colonist corpse to use the resurection serum, but for food ? :-))
