So, I was able to capture/Rescue a wild man/women and put them in my prison. The problem was, that they proceeded to starve and my guys refused to feed them. I suspect it was the food dispenser interrupting the taming processes.

The room was set as a prison and because of the dispenser fed the prisoners they feed themselves. A wild man requires Taming which requires the colonists to go in and feed them which I suspect the food dispenser disables.

At least this is my running theory, can I get another to confirm? A simple set up.
This could be user error as I did not have raw food to give at the time.

Can you provide a savegame? This seems hard to reproduce.

Upon having time to recreate the event. It seems the wildman/women are eating from the dispenser. (probably should have doubled check before posting.)

I was having trouble lowering the save below 1k so Ill just say that the wildmen are eating from the dispensers but I noticed they slept on the floor. (I had triple the number of beds). You will see that they would rather get a full night's sleep then feed themselves. Many would get ravenously hungry inches from starvation.

I suspect the wildman that died had a few issues that made their sleep longer than normal and then just died of hunger.

I find it weird to have the wildman just lay on the floor when they have a bed. :P  should not the colonists pull food from the dispenser to force-feed the prisoners, when they get to this ravenously hungry? This might be wonky for wildmen.

recommend getting multiple wildmen and seeing what happens over time
notes:
Large barrack. Multiple beds, nightstand, cabinet, table, benches, Carpeted floor
Food dispenser faces into the prison with hopper outside the prison, 2x2 freezer around the 2 hoppers (critical priority,), 2 slots to store meat.

*feels sheepish* At the time of the first post I did have a few mods installed but in my defense, they had nothing to do with wildmen and prisons. At the time of the second post, I removed the mods to double-check things.

Probably human error as I predicted. Not sure how :P

While I was looking around, once they are in the prison the option to tame is not there on the wildman but will appear in the wildlife.

Huge fan Tynan :D Good up the awesome work.

Wild men are weird, ill leave it up to you if you think wildmen not attending to their own needs while in prison is in flavor or not. Maybe if warden is set to 1 colonist forced feed?

I suspect the main problem I had was with in-game parameters. So there is no real problem... but my personal opinion the thresh hold for maintaining a Wildman is low because you are supposed to feed them to keep them around but if they catch a sleeping virus I suspect this will kill them off.

Okay, thanks for the full feedback and story (and the props)!

We'll watch this but it sounds like there's no critical problem so I'm going to close this and focus on the bigger bugs for now. Thanks for reporting again.
