I have colonist responsible for growing food she has growing at priority 2 and howling at 4. However immediately after harvesting plant she transports it to the hoppers. It means she harvest one plant goes to hopper goes back and harvest another and so on. It used to be that they used to harvest entire field and then transport now in this version it appears to have change.

In early game I'd suggest to minimize the amounts of jobs you have allocated to your colonists. It's easier to herd them around this way. Later in game when you come across new colonists this gets less tedious. Try to have close haul spots to minimize their walking distances, could even try to put a hauling dump 1 square in size right next to the harvesting area. Give it high priority so that if you have them hauling the distance in not a concern. Ideally for me I'll have a 2 spots to haul to the main hauling area just has a lower priority. ;)

I think hauling to a hopper is the job of a cook, so it does not fall under hauling. Is she perhaps also your cook?

Unless it has changed, A hauler hauls everything, cooks just cook. (unless you have them hauling as well)

think its cooks job to haul to food hoppers on paste dispenser, i do remember reading words to that effect.
Skullywag modded to death.
I'd never met an iterator I liked....until Zhentar saved me.
Why Unity5, WHY do you forsake me?

Possibly, but everytime I have watched the Sim of my colonies, I have seen that the cook would just cook then take the prepped food to the designated storage. All the time my haulers would fill hoppers/food storage. Though I must add I rarely use hoppers and store the food near the kitchen. I really never find a need for the Paste-Dispenser anyways, and just make salads early on when I have no power. Maybe a cook does both and I just never come across that situation with the style I play. :o

I just tested it and it appears that cook taking food to hoppers is a thing. She was set as cook 2 growing 2 as I changed it to cook 3 growing 2 she started to prioritize growing over hoppers. Still seams as a strange choice of task for a cook. Thank you for help.
