Scrolling on Mac sticky or simply doesn't work & CNTL click doesn't work.

I am playing Rimworld on a Macbook Pro 2010 - scrolling is very sticky and slow.  In full screen mode, moving the curser to the edge sometimes scrolls the map and sometimes not - even when it does scroll, it is very slow.  In Windowed mode, I cannot scroll at all - not even click and drag.  I have tired both with the trackpad and an external mouse. 

Second issue - when using an external one button Mac mouse - I cannot use CTRL and left click the mouse - which should result in the same thing as a mouse right click. Not the end of the world but that combined with the non scrolling issue make game play very difficult.

The game version is something different than the engine version. The game function is something like 0.8.657

Are you using mods?
