[mod request] Underground tunels

Could they be made in the same logic as digging in a mountain is, with corridors, but under the floor, with hatches to enter and exit, with a slight invisible path/colonist look so the player could identify they're both in a lower level? (like the power wires) Imagine also with camouflaged entrances...  :D

This could be good for an escape route if the colony is overrun or to sneak on a siege camp, secret stash... The applications are endless. Using some wood and steel, perhaps. I was thinking based on the movie "The great Escape"..  :)

Dont forget that the AI is a god and will know everything about your base at all times.
if you add a back door, the AI will use it.
You better not try...
If the siege camp notices your dig, they would ambush you and use that cheap cheap route.
If your colony is overrun, they will chase you in it
If you made an escape route, the AI will use it to escape to you and kill you.

1. Save game compatibility? Did you notice we're in alpha builds? I've lost count of how many games I've started.  :)

2. AI using the tunnels? Why not, if in the right circumstances? Everything is processed through a set of rules of programming. And you know there's games that successfully make use of a camouflage system, right? With line of sight, layers, etc.. Catch and get caught.  ;D

The game is in early stages, everything is possible. The AI isn't very smart, yet, anyway. Just make a labyrinth to your base and see if they think for a faster route.  :-*

The most risk free path for maximum damage is actually the preferred way, especially since your front entrance may have multiple walls and doors and who knows what might lay in store for them 8)
The AI is smart enough for that.

Actually if you think about it this could be used tactically like you can dig a tunnel to the middle of the map and if you are singed just dig under them then put a bomb or "tunnel charge" and blow up there mortars but making another entree point to your base. See those WW1 tactics though.

Have you thought about what will happen if the AI is allowed to make their own tunnels? :D

Oh... Nisssssssssse defense you have there....
it would be a shame if someone would tunnel past them...
So many ideas... so little time.
